Dress as Dog Day in aid of Support Dogs UK

This was a first for the Harwich Education Partnership.  All 6 primary schools joined together in a single event to raise both money and awareness,  Children and staff joined in the fun and came to school dressed as dogs of all varieties, although we definitely found every single one of the 101 Dalmations, plus their friends, cousins, children and grandchildren!

Tess Thompson from the Support Dogs UK Charity delivered an assembly in each of the 6 schools to give the children an understanding of what these amazing dogs can do to improve the quality of life of so many people.  The children were fascinated and Tess said that they asked  some questions that she had never been asked before!

A total of £2,100 was raised  by Spring Meadow, Mayflower, Chase Laine, All Saints, Two Village and Harwich Primary Schools, along with the Harwich Centre Pre School and the Ark Nursery who decided to join in the fun.  This money will fund an existing dog / human partnership for a whole year.
