Awareness

We co-hosted with SUDEP Action a meeting at Parliament in October 2022

(Courtesy Anna Firth MP) making valuable networking connections and we’re also involved in the All Party Parliamentary Group on Epilepsy.

SUDEP Action featured Maisie’s story in an awareness raising this year.

Our very own support dog ‘Maisie’ is fully trained, lives with her new owner who has epilepsy but is able to lead a far more independent life with ‘Maisie’s’ help.

We had full page stories twice in the local press publicising the MTF.

We attended the Support Dog reception at the Kennel Club in London and were able to raise awareness with eminent guests including Angela Rippon.

Epilepsy Awareness Day was mentioned on the floor of the House of Commons by Anna Firth MP (following in the footsteps of the late Sir David Amess, a keen supporter) and her contribution was endorsed by Penny Mordaunt MP.

The MTF is helping to fund Epsmon 2 (Epilepsy Monitoring App) - this WILL save lives.  It’ll be rolled out to people with epilepsy in 2024 and we’ll be part of that process.  It allows intervention by clinicians in real time if an epileptic’s condition shows dangerous changes between GP appointments - a real breakthrough.
